About the Camerata Orchestra
Founded in 1989 by concermaster Lenore Hatfield, the Camerata Orchestra offers a professional setting for Indiana
University Jacobs School of Music faculty, retired faculty, music students, and townspeople in Bloomington, Indiana.
Internationally known guest conductors lead the orchestra with soloists from I.U. faculty and concert artists. The Metropolitan Opera, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Louisville Orchestras; Israel, Los Angeles, Rochester Philharmonics; Symphonies of Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Pittsburgh,
London, Montreal, Indianapolis, NBC, New Orleans, the National Symphony—all have been represented in the Camerata by former members, most of them principals. "Camerata Favaorites" CD can be purchased at TIS Bookstore and Williams Jewelry in Bloomington.
